Ford is about to tear me a new one when I go in tomorrow to ask about getting an 8.8 shipped here...and knowing my luck, it'll be messed up somehowPosted Image
This is getting a bit expensive...Posted Image

the way I see it...it will take about 11500 to get everything right... then I can go and fail inspection because what I want will force me to remove my cats..

Curses curses curses!!!

Let me see

Poweradder with shipping(estimated shipping< I don;t know yet)
6000
8.8 from ford...assuming price
2000+
New driveshaft
675
Tuning...for everything to be dandy
300
Handling and height
1100
Fender....assuming I can get aafes to order it
fender itself 85
estimated aafes
400?
new headlight housing
150
oh, and lets not forget the wheels/tires
1400
Posted Image

oh yeah...and um 19000 left on the car...
hmm lets see...

about 34000 total...thats just regular things...not to mention upkeep...and services...god knows the warranty is donePosted Image

is there no cure for thisPosted Image

haha

But it will be a badazz car when it's donePosted Image

I need a REAALLY BIG PAYRAISE...i'm thinking 300.5% pay increase..Posted Image

Not being a D!ck...but if you can find a way to ship it from the states to here...then more power to ya!

No because I am paying for some insurance before this one goes boom...

With current planning...which are 95% going to happen..I will be past the 300 at the wheels range..
321RWHP and around 350 RWTQ....that's just an estimate on a canned tune to get me going...but that's just a bone stock v6 number...duals should net me a few extra..

That being said the general consensus around 6 sites is the 7.5 will take 300...any higher is playing on borrowed time..
One guy ran 340 for 30000 miles....

One guy blew it out never doing any mods after 50000...

And someone else blew it on N2O

I like the first guy's numbers, but safe rather than sorry right? If the stang goes down...well so does my main mode of trans...
I would buy another car...but I already pay out about 45% of my pay on it...car payment, insurance, and gas...is about 950 a month.
so I don't need to burn money somewhere else..

That's why.

And +1 to redfire, I just looked and found my replacement headlamp housing for 30 bucks plus 22 shipping. the cheapest from normal sites I found was 129 before shipping!
good call! I just stray from ebay cause everyone says no APO shippingPosted Image

Don't believe the BS about it not taking more than 300. Lots of big names out there sell cars that roll of the lot with 350+, Roush, Saleen/SMS just to name a few. I'm running 50K now with a blower and not a single issue.

Sure but if you want to go with the poweradder... I just thinking a little bit......
Isnt there a higher chance for you or me to kill our engines before we beat out rearends?
Im reading stuff you know and I read a lot and EVERYBODY is saying forged internals are the best way to go before considering a poweradder...
otherwise like you said could be a borrowed time..correct me if Im wrong but thats what they say thoughPosted Image

and on the engine you need:

-high flowing heads
-a sexy cam ( depends on you setup)
-rods, pistons, valves you know all that jazz
just to be sure not to shoot your motor or if you desire to boost it a little more

I do not want to think about how much I have in my car and I bought most of my stuff 2nd or 3rd hand. Plus, there is not a singld mod you listed that will "force" you to remove you cats other than yourself. Be smart about what you do and everything will be all right. My Cobra still passes inspection with no issues.
It is a lot more fun if there are twists and turns in the road

I don't know about how it works...but if I opt for this particular turbo kit...I have talked with them on the phone many times, it takes off the X, the cats, and pretty much leaves the manifolds...then it has a pipe that will branch back out for my duals... He said, as long as emissions isn't an issue, then the kit is fine.

Hey Alen, about what you said.

This kit has been proven through use and thousands and thousands of miles...
As long as the tune is spot on, I shouldn't be worrying about the internals until I hit around the 460+ range...I just want 400 for a DD so as long as my tune is straight, I should be.
I also have talked extensively with (he's all over the net) Rygen(thats his handle) He was one of the first to run this kit, way back in 06...and he tells me it's spot on. He ran 11s on stock internals..

I only opt for things that will allow for stock engine use..and are proven to not destroy them unless user error..

But again, that's if I go the Turbo route...
If I supercharge...well I would probably wouldn't need a new rear end...but I wouldn't even hit the 300RWHP mark either...I would just outdo stock GTs, or anything else with less than 280 RWHP...so we will just have to see..

You just need to do some more research. There are turbo systems out there for your car that will still be street legal and you should be able to pick a complete system for less than $5000. You just have to comb the web and be patient. Until you decide turbo or S/C you should hold off on any and all other exhaust mods (esp. headers) as you may have to just replace them anyways when you turbo. My advice for you is to find one of the rear mount turbos. You get the boost without adding the 50lbs to the front end:nice:

This is where u have to do your homework on ebay, B/C if you don't you can really get burned...For example, a lot of people don't know this, but you can by a lot of BRAND NEW parts from ebay from reputable stores at 10-25% below retail. Once you do your search, scroll down the page on the left side it will give u options to better refine your search. One of these options is "Include store inventory". That is the one u really want. Also, pay attention to the feedback score of the vendor. If its over 500 with above 97% positive feedback left they are a pretty good bet. Lastly, don't be afraid to communicate directly with the vendor asking very specific questions. I do this all the time, especially if it is something pricey. If things do go south later, you have the email traffic to fall back on to ensure PAYPAL/EBAY gets u your money back. The vendors know this too however, so things probably will not go south later.

Buy a 7.5 t-lock diff, have it installed and be done with it. I would suggest scouring for an 8.8 in country but because it is a 2005+ I think your chances are even less remote. The diff/rear will handle it unless ford has made the 7.5 weaker since 1997. You mentioned Nitrous in one post but you need to remember the power increase of Nitrous is INSTANT whereas an SC/Turbo builds. I don't want to get into any great arguments over how quickly they build, etc, just realize that comparing forced induction torque curve to a nitrous one is not apples to apples.
97 V6 Automatic:291 RWHP/ 298 RWTQ S-trim

98 Cobra:292 RWHP/ 307 RWTQ T-56, IRS

I turn my own wrenches.
